Macrobug Stray Event Scanner - Download

The Macrobug Stray Event Scanner is currently beta-quality software, with known bugs. Please report any problems to support@macrobug.com.

To download the tool, you need to do three things:

Download the Carbide.c++ version - from within Carbide - assuming you want it. Optional!
Download the command-line version - assuming you want it. Optional!
Download a 10-day trial license. Install this on whichever version you've fetched.

Fetching the Carbide.c++ version

Launch Carbide.c++
Select Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install...
Select Search for New Features to Install
Select New Remote Site...
For Name, enter "Macrobug Update Site"
For URL, enter http://www.macrobug.com/eclipse-update-site/
Ensure that update site is selected in the list, and click Finish
In the list of available features, select Macrobug Stray Event Scanner
Click through the remainder of the screens to install the tool
Don't forget to install a license too... otherwise your software will remain in demo mode.

Fetching the command-line version

Download this Zip file. Unzip it somewhere. Read the README. Install a license.

Installing a license

Without some kind of license, the software will work... but it will only report problems in the first half of each source code file. This gets annoying, so please either get a trial license or purchase the full product!

Go to the purchase page to buy a full one-year license

Fill in this form to request a 10-day demonstration license. The license agreement limits your use to demonstration purposes only, but there's no technical enforcement of that. So please buy the product if it's useful!

Note that you can fetch as many trial licenses as you want. Apart from the time limit, there are no other restrictions enforced by the licensing software, so you can freely copy the tool and license to several machines.

Instructions to install the license will be included with the e-mail (they just involve copying the file to a certain place.)
